Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Delphi Software Engineer based in Portugal to join a fully remote, international engineering team. You will develop and enhance enterprise Delphi applications for media and advertising technology, focusing on features, performance, and scalable architecture.

Join a collaborative group working with Product, QA and Documentation to deliver robust releases and continually improve existing products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years with Delphi 10 or later.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Strong knowledge of OOP, OOD and OOA.
• Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN or Mercurial).
• Familiarity with N-Tier architecture.
• Strong algorithmic and problem-solving skills.
• Experience applying design patterns to codebases.
• Testing, debugging and troubleshooting complex software.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across distributed teams.

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Delphi Software Engineer based in Portugal.

As a Senior Delphi Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development and continuous improvement of enterprise-level software solutions within the media and advertising technology industry. You will work on a unified platform that supports the full advertising lifecycle for television, radio, and digital publishers, helping broadcasters manage business operations, invoicing, and reporting. Your primary focus will be developing new features, improving existing architecture, and optimizing application performance. Working closely with Product Management, Quality Assurance, and Documentation teams, you will help deliver reliable, high-quality software releases. You will also collaborate with fellow engineers to maintain and evolve solutions in response to changing customer and customer requirements. This is an opportunity to work on complex, scalable technology projects within a fully remote and international engineering environment.

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and test new software features based on internal requirements and external customer requests.
• Improve existing software architecture and system design to enhance application performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Develop and maintain enterprise-level applications using Delphi, ensuring high standards of code quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Quality Assurance, and Documentation teams to deliver complete, high-quality software releases.
• Work closely with other engineering team members to maintain, troubleshoot, and continuously improve existing products.
• Analyze customer and project requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Apply object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, and best practices to new and new existing codebases.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify, investigate, and resolve complex software issues.
• Contribute to architectural improvements and ensure solutions remain aligned with evolving business and technical needs.
• Participate in collaborative development activities, sharing technical knowledge and supporting continuous product improvement.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of overall professional software development experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience developing applications with Delphi 10 or later.
• Solid experience with SQL and relational database technologies.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Object-Oriented Design (OOD), and Object-Oriented Analysis (OOA).
• Familiarity with N-Tier architecture, with practical experience considered a strong advantage.
• Experience using version control systems such as Git, SVN, or Mercurial.
• Strong algorithmic and problem-solving skills.
• Practical experience applying software design patterns to both new and new existing codebases.
• Ability and willingness to thoroughly test, debug, and troubleshoot complex software components.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Creative thinking and the ability to develop innovative solutions to technical challenges.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams.
