Job summary

Kyndryl Portugal seeks a Database Administrator to manage and protect our core data platforms. You will configure, install and maintain database systems, implement security policies and ensure peak performance across global environments.

In a hybrid role, you will plan capacity, coordinate database projects with cross-functional teams, support end users and developers, and drive on‑prem to cloud migrations to sustain scalable, reliable services for customers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Windows Server 2016 implementations and ongoing management.
• Experience in VMware ESXi environments and virtualization.
• Hands-on experience in public and private cloud management.

Maintain and Protect

Optimize systems: Your expertise will be crucial in configuring, installing and maintaining database management systems, ensuring that our systems are always running at peak performance. Set security protocols: You'll be responsible for managing user access and implementing policies and procedures to protect our valuable data from unauthorized access and external threats. Strategize to Scale

Plan ahead: You will conduct capacity planning and growth projections based on usage, ensuring that our system is always scalable to meet our business needs. Make progress: You'll be a strategic partner, working closely with various teams to coordinate systematic database project plans that align with our organizational goals. Generate ideas: You'll have the opportunity to propose and implement enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system, enabling us to deliver world-class services to our customers.

Recover and Resolve

Be ready to recover: Develop strong backup and recovery plans to ensure that our system is always protected in the event of a failure. Support solutions: Use your technical acumen to support end users and application developers in solving complex problems related to our database systems.
