Job summary

Emerging Travel Group in Lisbon, Portugal, is seeking a Data Platform SRE/Observability Engineer to design and implement end-to-end monitoring across infra stacks including Trino, Kubernetes, databases, and big data systems.

You will automate collection of DORA metrics, create health dashboards, and audit metrics to eliminate blind spots. The role focuses on infrastructure reliability, with strong Prometheus/Grafana/Alertmanager skills and good PromQL capabilities.

Qualifications

• 3 years in DevOps/SRE
• 5 years in IT
• Experience as an SRE or monitoring engineer focusing on infrastructure reliability
• Knowledge of Python, Go/JS is a plus
• Expertise with Prometheus Stack and PromQL queries
• Understanding of SLI/SLO/SLA concepts and error budgets

Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end monitoring for all infrastructure stacks (Trino, Kubernetes, databases, Big Data)
• Implement automatic collection of DORA metrics and build health dashboards to visualize service uptime
• Audit current metrics and address gaps in monitoring, especially Kubernetes and distributed storage
• Update Alertmanager rules to catch incidents before impact
• Be the single point of expertise for monitoring to relieve team leads from routine tasks
