Job summary

A2IT Technology is hiring an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with strong observability expertise to build and scale a company-wide observability platform. You will design and maintain solutions covering metrics, logs, traces and RUM, using Grafana Stack and OpenTelemetry.

You will work with a cross-functional team to promote best practices, modernise legacy monitoring, and optimise observability costs. This remote role requires residing in Portugal and a hands-on automation mindset.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an SRE or Observability Engineer.
• Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry or equivalent instrumentation tools.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform and ArgoCD.
• Knowledge of telemetry pipelines including metrics, logs, traces, exporters and sidecars.
• Fluency in English.

🚀 We’re Hiring | Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) – Observability | Remote | Portugal

📍 Please note: Candidates must be currently residing in Portugal.

Are you passionate about system reliability, automation and observability engineering?

We’re looking for an SRE with strong observability expertise to help build and scale a company-wide observability platform, improving system performance, reliability and operational efficiency.

You’ll join a cross-functional team working with modern observability technologies, with a strong

focus on automation, scalability and continuous improvement.

🔹 What you’ll do

• Design and maintain observability solutions covering metrics, logs, traces and Real User Monitoring (RUM).
• Work with the Grafana Stack, including Grafana Cloud, Tempo, Loki, Mimir and Alloy, alongside OpenTelemetry.
• Build automated monitoring and alerting pipelines based on SLOs and SLAs.
• Manage telemetry pipelines, ensuring data quality from instrumentation to dashboards.
• Promote observability best practices across development and operations teams.
• Modernise legacy monitoring and alerting solutions.
• Identify opportunities to optimise observability costs and support FinOps initiatives.

🔹 What we’re looking for

• 3+ years of experience as an SRE, Observability Engineer or in a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry or equivalent instrumentation tools.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform and ArgoCD.
• Knowledge of telemetry pipelines, including metrics, logs, traces, exporters and sidecars.
• Strong automation mindset and a “you build it, you run it” approach.
• Fluency in English.

⭐ Nice to have

• Experience with APM and distributed tracing solutions.
• Knowledge of FinOps practices applied to observability.
• Experience modernising legacy monitoring platforms.
• Cloud experience, preferably Azure.
• Knowledge of Java development and application instrumentation.
• Expertise in performance monitoring, alerting, dashboarding and root cause analysis.
• Contributions to open-source observability projects.
