Job summary

Decskill is seeking a Data Consultant to join our Lisbon-based team, delivering data-driven solutions for diverse clients and expanding our data capabilities.

You will act as a trusted advisor, identify opportunities, and design scalable data pipelines using SQL and Python. Collaboration with stakeholders and delivering end-to-end analyses are key parts of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience in Data Consulting, Data Analysis, or similar roles.
• Strong SQL and Python skills for data analysis and processing.
• Experience with ETL tools and data pipeline development.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Experience designing end-to-end data solutions and using Jira/Confluence.

We are looking for a Data Consultant!

Responsibilities:

• Act as a trusted advisor, supporting clients in identifying opportunities to improve innovation and operational efficiency through data-driven solutions.
• Identify business use cases, lead workshops and design scalable solutions to accelerate client innovation and efficiency gains.
• Facilitate collaboration, communication and coordination among project stakeholders to understand their operational and strategic needs.
• Translate business needs into clear requirements and develop realistic roadmaps aligned with stakeholder expectations.
• Design and deliver ad hoc data analyses and end-to-end data pipelines using ETL tools, SQL and/or Python.
• Promote and contribute to a data-driven culture across the group.
• Track, monitor and report on project progress using appropriate tools, such as Jira and Confluence.

Requirements:

• Experience in Data Consulting, Data Analysis, Business Analysis or similar roles.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and Python for data analysis, manipulation and processing.
• Experience with ETL tools and data pipeline development.
• Ability to identify business use cases and translate business needs into functional and technical requirements.
• Experience designing and delivering data analysis solutions, from ad hoc analysis to end-to-end data pipelines.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to facilitate workshops and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to translate business and strategic needs into clear, realistic roadmaps.
• Understanding of corporate governance principles and data governance practices.
• Experience working in Agile environments and tracking projects using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proactive, collaborative and delivery-oriented mindset.
• Ability to act as a trusted advisor and promote data-driven decision-making.

Nice to have:

• Experience in the Banking or Financial Services sector.
• Previous experience working in CIB (Corporate and Institutional Banking).
• Knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Experience with large-scale data transformation and integration projects.
