Job summary

Next Engineering is a Portuguese tech company transforming industries with innovative data solutions. We seek a data engineering professional to design and maintain scalable pipelines on Azure Databricks and Synapse, and to deliver reusable data products across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.

You will integrate SAP, Salesforce and external sources while upholding data quality, governance, and security. Experience with Python, PySpark, SQL, and Azure tools is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in data engineering using Python, PySpark and SQL.
• Hands-on with Azure Databricks, Synapse, and data lake/storage services.
• Knowledge of data vault concepts and dimensional modelling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines on Azure Databricks and Synapse.
• Develop reusable data products across Bronze, Silver, Gold layers.
• Integrate data from SAP, Salesforce and external systems.
• Ensure data quality, governance, lineage, and security.

Your responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Databricks and Synapse.
• Develop reusable, high-performance data products across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.
• Integrate data from multiple sources, including SAP, Salesforce, and external systems.
• Ensure data quality, governance, lineage, and security.
• Optimize data processing for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Automate workflows, testing, and deployments through CI/CD pipelines.

Your profile:

• Strong expertise in Python, PySpark, and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks (mandatory), Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Data Factory.
• Knowledge of Data Vault and dimensional data modeling.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Knowledge of data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview and Databricks Unity Catalog.
