Job summary

Decskill is growing and seeks a Data & AI Engineer to bridge data platforms with AI solutions. You will work on Snowflake, dbt deployments, RAG, and enterprise AI tools to deliver practical business outcomes.

The role requires hands-on development, collaboration with stakeholders, and a focus on responsible AI governance within the team. Lisbon/Porto/Madrid offices with long-term opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience with Python for data processing and AI implementation.
• Hands-on Snowflake and dbt experience, including semantic views.
• Familiarity with Snowflake Cortex Analyst and semantic data modelling.
• Knowledge of enterprise AI tools such as Copilot and Gemini Enterprise.
• Understanding of AI agents, tool-calling and AI-driven automation.
• Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and orchestration.

We are looking for a Data & AI Engineer | Snowflake & AI Solutions!

Responsibilities:

• Support group (SRE) in data enablement initiatives and the implementation of AI use cases, bridging enterprise AI platforms with business requirements.


• Create and validate YAML semantic view files in Snowflake to support Cortex Analyst capabilities.


• Prepare and maintain Talk2Data ontologies to enable effective data access and AI-driven interactions.


• Coordinate dbt deployments across development, quality assurance and production environments (DEV, QUA and PRD).


• Develop Python-based solutions for data processing and AI implementation.


• Implement AI use cases using existing enterprise AI platforms, including invoice scanning, contract generation and process automation.


• Lead AI governance activities within the business unit, ensuring the responsible and effective adoption of AI solutions.


• Support the implementation and enablement of developer productivity tools, including Claude Code.


• Explore and implement AI agents, tool-calling mechanisms and orchestration frameworks to support business processes.


• Apply Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques to develop solutions that leverage enterprise data and knowledge.


• Work with enterprise AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Gemini Enterprise to deliver practical business solutions.


• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to translate business requirements into effective AI and data solutions.


• Coordinate AI use case delivery, combining hands‑on technical implementation with lightweight project management activities.

Requirements:

• Experience using Python for data processing and AI implementation.


• Hands‑on experience with Snowflake and dbt, including semantic views, ontologies and YAML configuration.


• Knowledge of Snowflake Cortex Analyst and semantic data modelling is valued.


• Experience with enterprise AI tools and platforms, such as Microsoft Copilot and Gemini Enterprise.


• Understanding of AI agents, tool‑calling mechanisms and AI‑driven automation.


• Experience with Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) and AI orchestration frameworks.


• Familiarity with developer productivity tools, particularly Claude Code.


• Ability to bridge technical AI platforms with specific business requirements and translate business needs into practical solutions.


• Experience implementing AI use cases from concept to delivery, with a focus on hands‑on development.


• Understanding of AI governance principles and responsible AI adoption.


• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work across data engineering and AI initiatives.


• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with both technical teams and business stakeholders.


• Basic project management skills to coordinate AI use case delivery and ensure effective implementation.


• Proactive mindset, adaptability and willingness to explore emerging AI technologies.
