Job summary

ManpowerGroup Portugal is seeking a Credit Controller to join the Credit Control team in Lisbon. You will oversee day-to-day reconciliations, cash receipts, and broker/client accounts, ensuring timely collections and high-quality service across finance operations.

Qualifications

• Be a graduate, or have a professional qualification in a finance related discipline.
• You will have experience in Credit Control (minimum 1 year).
• Proficient in written and spoken English, Portuguese would be a plus.
• Good mathematical analytical skills and ability to analyse complex data with effective decision making on complex business/technical issues.
• A positive, can-do attitude, results-driven, with energy and determination to succeed in a fast-paced environment where timely and high-quality responses are critical to success.
• Strong writing and editing skills with a keen attention to detail, capable of producing high-quality work under pressure.
• Being patient and respectful towards our clients, coupled with professional firmness and determination in debt recovery.
• Good Excel and Outlook skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate, timely data entry and quality checking of cash receipts per Hiscox standards.
• Responsible for premium collections, cheque deposits, direct debits, commissions payments, discounts and other overpayments.
• Reconcile discrepancies on client and broker accounts, disburse cash received, assist in recovering and resolving outstanding debts, and manage relationships with brokers and partners.
• Deliver exceptional service standards and meet KPIs.
• Liaise with internal/external parties to respond to queries within deadlines.
• Distribute monthly statements regarding overdue accounts and address questions.
• Input regulations into the system, handle unpaid accounts, oversee steps, and clear outstanding movements.
• Analyze the Ageing report and allocated portfolio.
• Maintain and develop technical knowledge to support best practices.
• Provide support and mentoring where applicable.
• Participate in continuous improvements.
