Gleeds is seeking a Contract Manager to oversee contractual aspects of construction projects, ensuring compliance with terms, managing changes and claims, and mitigating risk to project delivery.

You will support Directors, maintain auditable records, prepare documents, and lead contract negotiations across Europe, including data centres. A degree in engineering, excellent English, and strong communication and ICT skills are essential.

Qualificações

  • Broad spectrum of technical knowledge relating to Contracts Management.
  • Experience managing contracts for large-scale construction projects in Europe, including Data Centres.
  • Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.

About this opportunity

Contract Manager responsible for overseeing the contractual aspects of construction projects, ensuring compliance with agreed terms, mitigating risks, and supporting project delivery.The role supports successful project delivery by maintaining contract compliance, managing change and claims, controlling contractual risk, and ensuring that project decisions, notices and records are timely, clear and defensible.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives.
  • Positively engaging with Customers and developing, growing and maintaining Customer relationships.
  • Delivering high-quality services and ensuring that deliverables meet Customers’ requirements.
  • Monitoring compliance with contract conditions, including notices, deliverables, programmes, securities, insurances, warranties, approvals and reporting requirements
  • Coordinating the contract assurance process, including compliance reviews, audits, action tracking and close-out
  • Supporting the preparation and review of procurement and contract documents, schedules, amendments and terms and conditions, with legal and procurement input where required
  • Preparing contract documents and drafting terms and conditions
  • Drafting and issuing contractual correspondence, notices, recommendations and instructions within delegated authority
  • Maintaining clear and auditable records of contractual communications, decisions, approvals and changes
  • Preparing, reviewing and assessing contractual claims, including extensions of time, delay and disruption, additional payment, loss and expense
  • Managing change control and variation processes, including scope definition, quotations, approvals, valuation, implementation and record keeping
  • Reviewing payment applications and supporting payment assessment and certification in accordance with the contract and delegated authority
  • Maintaining contractual and commercial risk registers, identifying emerging risks and recommending mitigation measures
  • Reviewing proposed subcontracting strategies and key subcontractor appointments where Employer approval or consent is required
  • Leading or supporting the negotiation and award of contracts, amendments, settlements and variations within delegated authority
  • Supporting dispute avoidance, escalation and resolution, including the preparation of position papers and referral documentation where required
  • Leading contract and commercial meetings as appropriate, recording actions and driving timely resolution
  • Monitoring contractual close-out, including final account information, defects, warranties, bonds, as-built information and outstanding obligations
  • Advising Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance.

  • Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Methodical way of thinking and approach to work.
  • Excellent problem-solving, negotiating, financial and numeracy skills.
  • Sound ICT skills, with a high proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • High level of English.
