A leading Iberian technology firm is seeking a COBOL Developer for a hybrid position in Porto. You will work with a multinational financial services firm, managing project specifications, modifications, and documentation while leveraging your skills in COBOL and other mainframe technologies. Qualificações

Academic training in Computer Engineering or similar.
Experience with mainframe environment - COBOL, MVS, SQL/DB2, JCL, TSO, ISPF, IMS, CICS.
Good knowledge of JCL.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

Plan and execute testing to ensure specifications are met.
Develop workload estimates and project schedules.
Modify existing applications for updates or user requests.
Prepare program and system documentation.
Make recommendations to improve cost effectiveness.
Handle release procedures in different environments.
Communicate project status and issues.

Conhecimentos

Knowledge of JCL

Role Overview

We are looking for a COBOL Developer to join one of our biggest clients in the Porto area (Hybrid). A multinational financial services firm, one of the largest financial groups and among the 30 largest financial institutions globally.

What you will do

Plan and execute testing (including no regression testing) to ensure the program meets the specifications;
Develop workload estimates, and project schedules to complete projects on schedule and as requested;
Modify existing applications for software updates, or user requests by analyzing systems to determine the appropriate changes;
Prepare program and system documentation for users and Production Support for proper execution of production or test jobs;
Makes recommendations on improvements to increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility;
Handles release procedures in the different environments;
Communicates project status and issues;

What you are like

Academic training in Computer Engineering or similar;
Good knowledge of JCL;
Experience with mainframe environment - COBOL, MVS, SQL/DB2, JCL, TSO, ISPF, IMS, CICS;
Good knowledge of Agile methodologies
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
