Job summary

Hiscox is hiring a Software Engineer to join the London Market Engineering Team. You will contribute to cloud-first solutions while supporting and transforming on‑prem and cloud systems.

You will work in a squads across the UK, Portugal, Poland and India, adopting AI-assisted development and agentic SDLC practices. Role requires C#/.NET, SQL, and CI/CD experience, plus familiarity with Azure services and modern frontend stacks (Blazor/Angular/React).

Qualifications

• Academic degree in a closely related field (or 3+ years of software engineering experience).
• Strong foundation in C# and .NET with ability to write unit tests.
• Solid background in SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and source control systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with squad and stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.
• Write clean, maintainable code following SOLID and best practices.
• Ensure documentation is up to date and comments added to stories.
• Design solutions and implement changes based on requirements.
• Collaborate across teams to learn architecture and contribute.
