Job summary

A Vodafone está a procurar um Cloud Engineer para liderar a entrega e evolução de infraestruturas em cloud, com foco em OpenShift, VMware e redes em ambientes híbridos. A função envolve automação, integração de VNF/CNF e melhoria de operações em contexto telco.

O candidato ideal tem ≥5 anos de experiência em cloud/telco, conhecimento de Kubernetes, virtualização e redes, com fluência em inglês e português. Modelo de trabalho híbrido em Portugal.

Qualifications

• Diploma/licenciatura em área relevante de IT ou engenharia.
• Experiência de pelo menos 5 anos em cloud e workload de telecomunicações.
• Conhecimento sólido de redes, virtualização e Kubernetes.
• Capacidade de trabalhar com ambientes on‑premises e soluções de cloud.
• Inglês e português fluentes.

Responsibilities

• Gerir o ciclo de entrega de soluções de cloud na Europa.
• Coordenar fornecedores e partes interessadas para entrega atempada com qualidade.
• Automatizar o onboarding de VNF/CNF e integrações.
• Gerir orçamento e prazos de entrega.
• Traduzir requisitos técnicos para linguagem de negócio.

Responsible for delivering and evolving Cloud infrastructure in alignment with the domain's strategy and objectives, ensuring the design and implementation of Red Hat and VMware solutions. Experienced in building infrastructure and integrating network functions within on-premises Cloud environments. Strong expertise in CaaS and IaaS technologies, including OpenShift, VMware, virtualization, compute, storage, and networking. Works closely with Onboarding teams to automate end-to-end integrations, driving operational efficiency and process optimization. Specialized in Cloud Native and virtualization platforms, with hands‑on experience in Kubernetes, GitLab, Argo CD, and Ansible. Possesses in‑depth knowledge of the VMware Telco Cloud ecosystem, including vSphere, NSX‑T, vCloud Director, Telco Cloud Automation (TCA), and Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG). Responsible for implementing best practices, managing hardware and software lifecycle processes, and maintaining a robust and scalable technology infrastructure.

What you’ll do

• Responsible for the delivery lifecycle management of assigned solutions within Europe;
• Coordinating suppliers, engage with peers and other stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of functionality and quality in projects;
• Develop the on boarding process and automation of VNF & CNF delivery;
• Work within the allocated budget and timelines of delivery;
• Define, address, track and report on standard and guideline adherence;
• Translate technical requirements into business language.

Who you are

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field;
• Strong communication and negotiation skills;
• Customer oriented and systematic way of working;
• Ability to work across multi‑functional and cultural boundaries to deliver results and change;
• Strong individual applied thinking;
• Good analytical and problem‑solving skills;
• At least 5 years professional experience in cloud and virtualization telco workload;
• Expert in data centre infrastructure, cloud computing and virtualization architectures (Telco);
• Solid understanding of virtualization (RedHat, vmWare) and containerization (RedHat/ Kubernetes);
• Solid understanding of routing and switching protocols (ie. BGP / ISIS / OSPF);
• Experience with kubernetes networking (CNIs, Service Mesh, Network Policies, Ingress/Egress);
• Experience with Network Load Balancers and Firewalls;
• Experience designing/implementing IPv6 solutions;
• Scripting expertise is preferred (Power CLI, Ansible, Powershell, Python);
• Process creation and execution;
• Cloud computing architecture and design (IT and Telco);
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.
