Job summary

Vodafone is seeking a TV Integration Engineer for the VTV Integration & Development team in Portugal. You will handle TV Backoffice backend integrations, coordinate cross‑vendor tasks, and maintain complex integrations while supporting production issues.

The role requires deep telecom TV knowledge, strong REST API and cloud (Kubernetes) experience, plus excellent English and stakeholder communication. Hybrid work model offered with ongoing learning and mobility opportunities.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree, preferably with a master’s, in a relevant field.
• 10+ years in telecom TV engineering or a closely related area.
• Strong backend and integration experience with TV platforms.
• Proficient in REST API design, testing and documentation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of databases (MS SQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Proficient in English; strong communication and collaboration skills.

As part of the VTV Integration & Development team, a System Integration Engineer is responsible for TV Backoffice (Backend), ensuring the integration with all the other vendors connected and managing complex project integration and troubleshooting, as well as maintenance and optimization of the corresponding components and process. Acting as 3rd line support for Engineering teams for any issue which occurs in production.

What you’ll do

• System integration and implementation in accordance to specifications;
• Validation of E2E integration components;
• Coordination of tasks within integration cross-funtional teams, vendors and manage thedeliverables;
• Support Product and validation requirements, ensuring quality on all deliverables;
• Successfully integrate new features according to the System Architecture guidelines;
• Ensure adequate system implementation in the accordance to product specification;
• Validation & Configuration Documentation;
• Provide adequate handover documentation per release as feature demo when needed;
• Continues improvement and automation of the integration processes;
• Establish effective/efficient work methodology and communication;
• Liaison with internal/external parties.

Who you are

• Academic Engineering qualifications preferably with master’s degree or strong track record within this or similar role;
• Deep knowledge of backend solution of the TV platform;
• Telecom Experience of at least 10 years in TV area;
• Knowledge with database technologies (e.g MS SQL, MySQL, MongoDB etc);
• Networking (routing, switching, etc.), Load balancers, firewalls and Proxys / Information Security – knowledge;
• Cloud ecosystem experience with Kubernetes or similar;
• Understanding/designing complex system architecture;
• Experience with REST API is essential and knowledge of API design and testing;
• Good understanding of Bigdata (Kafka, Flume);
• Strong capability to understand and analyze e2e workflow processes between different interfaces (vendors);
• Knowledge of industrial broadcast standards for metadata processing;
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline and DevOps best practices;
• Knowledge in dealing with Agile working methods (e.g. Scrum, SAFe);
• Strong communication skills in direct stakeholder Management with internal and external parties;
• Strong level of English.
