Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in Portugal seeks a skilled RAN Optimization Engineer to drive C-SON use-cases for LTE and 5G. You will monitor performance, analyze SON outputs, and validate improvements across networks.

You will configure MLB, MRO, CCO, ANR, Energy Saving features, and collaborate with RAN Planning/Operations to meet targets. Hybrid work, international projects, and career growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field required.
• Minimum 5 years in Radio Network Optimization.
• At least 3 years with SON/C-SON platforms and strong LTE/5G knowledge.

YOUR ROLE

• Manage and optimize C-SON use cases across LTE and 5G networks.
• Monitor and improve network performance through automated optimization strategies.
• Analyze SON-generated recommendations and validate network improvements.
• Configure, tune, and support SON functionalities, including:
  • Mobility Load Balancing (MLB)
  • Mobility Robustness Optimization (MRO)
  • Coverage and Capacity Optimization (CCO)
  • Automatic Neighbor Relations (ANR)
  • Energy Saving features
  • Interference Management
• Perform KPI-driven performance analysis and root cause investigations.
• Assess the effectiveness of SON algorithms and recommend optimization actions.
• Collaborate with RAN Optimization, Planning, and Operations teams to ensure network performance targets are achieved.
• Support automation initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
• Develop performance reports, dashboards, and executive presentations.
• Participate in customer discussions, technical workshops, and network performance reviews.

YOUR PROFILE

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Radio Network Optimization.
• At least 3 years of experience working with SON/C-SON platforms.
• Strong knowledge of LTE and 5G radio technologies.
• Experience with C-SON solutions from vendors such as:
  • Nokia EdenNet SON
  • Huawei iSON
  • Ericsson SON
  • Amdocs SON
  • AirHop SON
  • Other centralized SON platforms.
• Strong understanding of RAN KPIs, mobility optimization, and network performance management.
• Experience analyzing large datasets and translating insights into optimization actions.
• Familiarity with OSS tools, performance management systems, and reporting platforms.
