Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in Lisbon seeks a Network Performance Optimization Engineer to support end-to-end optimization across multi-vendor mobile networks (Nokia, Ericsson, Huawei).

You will monitor KPIs, perform capacity and coverage assessments, and drive improvements to enhance customer experience while collaborating with cross-functional teams. English fluency is mandatory; hybrid work is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications or related field.
• Strong experience in RAN performance and optimization for mobile networks.
• Hands-on experience with Nokia, Ericsson and/or Huawei.
• Good understanding of KPIs, counters and optimization methodologies.
• Experience in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Familiarity with capacity planning and coverage optimization.
• Experience with performance management tools such as NetAct/ENM/U2020.
• Understanding of 2G-5G radio networks.
• Experience in technical reporting and customer-facing activities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

YOUR ROLE

As a Network Performance Optimization Engineer, you will support end-to-end network performance, optimization, and assurance activities across multi-vendor mobile networks, including Nokia, Ericsson, and Huawei technologies.

• Monitor network performance and analyze KPIs to identify optimization opportunities and performance degradations.
• Perform network optimization activities across 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks.
• Conduct capacity, coverage, and quality assessments, proposing improvements to enhance customer experience.
• Investigate and troubleshoot network issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions.
• Support feature implementation, validation, and performance testing.
• Execute technical audits and ensure network compliance with customer requirements and best practices.
• Analyze customer complaints and translate findings into network improvement actions.
• Provide support for special events, major incidents, and network-critical activities.
• Produce technical reports, dashboards, and performance presentations for internal and customer stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a multi-vendor environment to ensure network stability, quality, and continuous improvement.

YOUR PROFILE

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong experience in RAN Performance and Optimization for mobile networks.
• Hands-on experience with Nokia, Ericsson, and/or Huawei technologies.
• Good understanding of network KPIs, counters, performance analysis, and optimization methodologies.
• Experience with network troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of capacity planning, coverage optimization, and network assurance processes.
• Familiarity with performance management and optimization tools such as NetAct, ENM, U2020, Atoll, Actix, Nemo, TEMS, or similar.
• Understanding of 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G radio networks.
• Experience in technical reporting and customer-facing activities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic and multicultural environment.
• Fluency in English is mandatory; additional languages are considered an advantage.
