Job Description
We are now looking for a Buyer to join our team at Airbus GBS for Flying Procurement. In his/her role of Buyer, the jobholder will be responsible for sourcing activities and contract management support to the Direct central procurement functions in line with the Service Level Agreement requirements. The jobholder will report to the Head of Procurement Cabin and Equipment in the Airbus GBS organization. He/She will be the guarantor of a compliant procurement process towards the business.
Main responsibilities
- Act as an extended member of the central Procurement function for sourcing and contract management activities for the assigned scope.
- Manage or support the Call for Tender (CFT) and supplier selection process in a fair competition mode and according to Airbus Procurement processes.
- Facilitate the purchasing process by assisting with the accurate submission, tracking, and issuance of purchase orders (POs).
- Oversee the invoice‑to‑payment lifecycle by proactively chasing outstanding invoices and ensuring all vendor payments are processed successfully and on time.
- Support the drafting and negotiation of the relevant contracts/generic terms and conditions with suppliers.
- On request process standard NDAs (Non‑Disclosure Agreements) for various projects.
- Ensure deliverables (goods/services) are in line with the contractual terms (cost, time, quality).
- Support long‑term alignment of the preferred supplier base with the long‑term trans‑national and trans‑divisional strategic needs of Airbus.
- Ensure regular two‑way communication with strategic buyers in central Procurement commodities.
- Contribute to innovation and digitalization in the procurement process through the deployment of state‑of‑the‑art processes and tools.
Requirements – our ideal candidate will have
- A procurement background of 1 to 5 years and the potential to be developed in the core countries in the Procurement function.
- Hard skills: proficiency in tendering process, negotiation, legal/contracting and SRM (supplier relationship management). Knowledge of export control and sustainability laws and regulations. Effective written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English, both written and verbal. French and/or German would be a plus. Ability to adapt to Airbus E2E procurement tools (SAP, E‑Proc, AirSupply) and Google suite.
- Soft skills: delivery oriented with strong focus on customer satisfaction; strong ability to convince and influence, communicate effectively; team player comfortable with remote working; act with integrity and equity in the supplier selection process, in full compliance with processes and regulations; with a specific attention to the ethics of the role. The role engages Airbus legally, financially and in terms of image.
- May need to travel up to once a quarter to the core countries of Airbus (France, Germany, Spain and UK).
