Job summary

JPM in Portugal seeks a purchasing specialist to analyse needs and supplier options, coordinating with Engineering and Production to ensure aligned specs and timely orders.

You will negotiate terms, manage orders, anticipate risks, and monitor supplier performance, while driving cost efficiency and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Analyse purchasing needs and technical specifications in coordination with Engineering and Production teams.
• Identify, contact, and select suitable suppliers according to the organisation’s needs.
• Negotiate prices, delivery times, and commercial terms, ensuring best cost-benefit ratio.
• Issue and follow up purchase orders until receipt.
• Anticipate and mitigate supply risks impacting project execution or production continuity.
• Maintain operational follow-up of suppliers and communicate JPM's needs.
• Evaluate supplier performance and promote improvement actions when necessary.
• Contribute to cost optimisation, service level improvement and purchasing process efficiency.
• Collaborate with different areas of the company to resolve supply issues.

Job description

• Analyse purchasing needs and technical specifications in coordination with the Engineering and Production teams
• Identify, contact, and select suitable suppliers according to the organisation’s needs
• Negotiate prices, delivery times, and commercial terms, ensuring the best costbenefit ratio
• Ensure the issuing and follow-up of purchase orders until receipt
• Anticipate and mitigate supply risks that may compromise project execution or production continuity
• Ensure the operational follow-up of suppliers, maintaining effective communication and an appropriate response to JPM’s needs
• Evaluate and monitor supplier performance, promoting improvement actions whenever necessary
• Contribute to initiatives aimed at cost optimisation, service level improvement, and purchasing process efficiency
• Collaborate with differente areas of the company to resolve issues related to the supply of materials and services

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 12th grade, CET (Technological Specialisation Course), or higher education qualification
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience (mandatory)

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledge of PHC (optional) and Excel
• Knowledge of negotiation and stock management
