Job summary

Bosch Service Solutions S.A. in Ovar, Portugal seeks a Technical Buyer to drive purchasing activities from supplier selection to product launch, collaborating with Engineering, Quality, and R&D to secure quality, cost, and delivery performance.

You will lead cross-functional project teams, implement strategic sourcing, and manage supplier relationships to ensure timely milestone achievement and continuous cost optimization.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing/industrial/tech environments is an advantage.

Job Description

As a Technical Buyer, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful execution of development projects by driving purchasing activities from supplier selection to product launch. Working closely with Engineering, Quality, R&D, and suppliers worldwide, you will help secure the best solutions in terms of quality, cost, and delivery performance.

Your contribution to something big:

• Act as the purchasing representative within cross-functional project teams.

Implement purchasing strategies that support project objectives and business goals.

• Lead supplier sourcing activities, request-for-quotation (RFQ) processes, negotiations, and supplier nominations.
• Manage project-related purchasing plans and ensure timely execution of key milestones.

Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the availability of prototypes and samples.

• Support supplier selection and drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining high quality standards.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Quality teams to ensure technical and commercial requirements are fulfilled.
• Monitor supplier performance, production readiness, and project risks throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Contribute to innovation scouting, market research, and benchmarking activities.
• Drive change management and contract negotiations related to ongoing projects.
• Track project KPIs and ensure purchasing targets regarding quality, cost, and supply availability are achieved.

Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure long-term project success.

Qualifications

What distinguishes you?

Education

• Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• Experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Supplier Management.
• Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or technology-driven environment is an advantage.
• Experience managing suppliers and commercial negotiations.

Know-how

• Knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and supplier management.
• Understanding of project management methodologies.
• Ability to analyze costs, risks, and supplier performance indicators.

Familiarity with SAP S/4Hana.

• Knowledge of contract negotiation and cost optimization techniques.

Languages

• Good communication skills in English.
• Additional languages are considered an advantage.
