Job summary

agap2 indústria invites a Budget Estimator to support metalworking projects in Barcelos. You will analyze technical drawings and specifications to prepare budgets, ensuring accurate costs and competitive pricing for proposals.

The ideal candidate has an engineering background with experience in cost estimation for metalworking, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with engineering, production and procurement to optimize costs. You will report to the projects team.

Qualifications

• Technical or engineering background in mechanical engineering or metalworking.
• Experience in budget estimation in metalworking projects.
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings and specs to prepare budgets.
• Compute costs for materials, labor, and manufacturing.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and commercial proposals.
• Ensure budgets are accurate and competitive.
• Collaborate with engineering, production and sales to optimize costs.

As part of the development of industrial projects in the metalworking sector, we are looking for a Budget Estimator to support the preparation of technical and commercial proposals, ensuring accurate cost estimation and competitive pricing.

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

• Technical or engineering background in Mechanical Engineering, Metalworking or a related field;
• Previous experience in budget estimation within the metalworking sector;
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and project documentation;
• Knowledge of cost estimation, material take-offs and supplier quotations;
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and organizational skills;
• Proactive approach, autonomy and ability to work collaboratively.
  

The main responsibilities are:

• Analyze technical documentation, drawings and specifications to prepare budgets;
• Calculate costs related to materials, labor, manufacturing and assembly;
• Request and analyze quotations from suppliers and subcontractors;
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and commercial proposals;
• Ensure the accuracy and competitiveness of budgets;
• Collaborate with engineering, production and commercial teams to clarify technical requirements and optimize costs.
