JTA: The Data Scientists in Porto, Portugal, is seeking a Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services powering our AI-enabled web apps. You will contribute to architecture decisions, implement robust tests, and collaborate with data science, AI and product teams.

The role emphasizes end-to-end AI system lifecycles, SQL/NoSQL data modeling, and containerized workflows using Docker, with hybrid work options and a 15th-month bonus policy. Health insurance is provided.

Qualificações

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong foundation in OOP principles.
• Experience building backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Experience configuring or working with Nginx.
• Experience working with Docker and containerized environments.
• Good understanding of backend architecture patterns (microservices, layered, REST).
• Familiarity with DB technologies including SQL and NoSQL.
• Interest or experience in AI/ML integrations is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services end-to-end.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs following solid architectural patterns.
• Collaborate with Data Science & AI teams on AI integrations.
• Contribute to system architecture and technical decisions.
• Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Design data models using SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Work with Docker and CI/CD pipelines for deployment.
• Configure Nginx and manage web servers or proxies.
• Partner with product, frontend, and AI teams to translate requirements.
• Ensure AI/ML pipelines fit into application infrastructure.
