Qualifications

• Formação superior em área relevante.
• 5+ anos de experiência em engenharia de software.
• 5+ anos com C#/.NET/.NET Core.
• 3+ anos em ML/AI/Data Science.
• Experiência em construir e implementar modelos de ML além de LLM/RAG.

Responsibilities

• Projetar, desenvolver e manter serviços de backend com C#/.NET.
• Traduzir requisitos em soluções escaláveis de AI/ML.
• Preparar datasets, engenharia de features e selecionar abordagens de ML.
• Desenvolver pipelines de ML e implantar modelos em endpoints na cloud.
• Monitorizar produção, qualidade de dados e governança de IA.

Join our team as a Backend AI Engineer (Hybrid – Porto)!

What You’ll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using C# and .NET/.NET Core


• Translate business requirements into scalable software and AI/ML solutions


• Prepare datasets, engineer features, and select appropriate machine learning approaches


• Build, train, fine-tune, evaluate, and deploy different types of ML models, including classification, regression, NLP, time-series, anomaly detection, computer vision, and deep learning


• Develop production-ready ML pipelines using Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn


• Deploy ML models through cloud endpoints, APIs, batch pipelines, and edge applications


• Monitor model performance, data quality, and application behavior in production


• Implement model versioning, experiment tracking, and retraining processes


• Develop LLM-based solutions using GPT, Transformers, Hugging Face, RAG, and prompt engineering


• Create proofs of concept and support the transition of AI solutions into production


• Design cloud-based AI architectures using Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud


• Work with Azure Machine Learning, Azure AI, AWS SageMaker, AWS Bedrock, Vertex AI, or equivalent services


• Containerize applications and ML services using Docker and Kubernetes


• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, MLOps practices, and AI governance standards


• Ensure security, privacy, and responsible AI principles are applied throughout development


• Conduct code reviews, document technical decisions, and mentor other engineers


• Collaborate with Product Owners and cross-functional teams to deliver AI-driven solutions


• Support production incidents, maintain SLAs, and identify technical improvements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field


• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience


• 5+ years of hands-on experience with C# and .NET/.NET Core


• 3+ years of hands-on experience in Machine Learning, AI Engineering, or Data Science


• Proven experience building, training, and deploying at least 2 different types of Machine Learning models beyond LLM and RAG applications


• Strong Python skills for data processing, model development, and ML pipelines


• Practical experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, and/or scikit-learn


• Experience with model evaluation, experiment tracking, versioning, and production monitoring


• Experience deploying ML models using Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud


• Knowledge of Azure ML, Azure AI, AWS SageMaker, AWS Bedrock, Vertex AI, or similar services


• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines


• Strong understanding of MLOps practices and production model operations


• Knowledge of NLP, LLMs, Transformers, Hugging Face, and prompt engineering


• Experience with microservices, databases, and high-volume backend systems


• Good understanding of API security, AI governance, and data privacy


• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
