What do we do?

VWFS Porto is a VWFS AG IT hub, and the first outside Germany. Here we will establish a long‑term Business & IT company. Our primary goal is to service all European markets in implementing and maintaining contract management systems and other IT projects. Our focus is on: Core systems, satellite systems (such as document management systems, collection systems) but also extends to integrations, data, and large project organizations. For this we seek a hands‑on Automation Developer.

Objectives

As part of the VWFS Porto team, you will be part of intelligent automation initiatives. In this role, you will act as an automation advocate—collaborating with stakeholders to identify opportunities, design scalable solutions, and deliver impactful results. You’ll be responsible for the full lifecycle of automation projects, from requirements gathering to deployment and support. You’ll also play a key role in shaping our automation strategy by selecting the right technologies, and continuously improving our catalog. Responsibilities
  • Designing, developing, and deploying scalable automation solutions using Power Platform, with a strong emphasis on Power Automate.
  • Integrating automation solutions with enterprise systems and third‑party platforms to streamline business processes.
  • Collaborating with business and systems analysts to gather requirements and assess feasibility of automation projects.
  • Conducting testing cycles to ensure reliability and performance of developed solutions.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for technical aspects and business processes.
  • Collaborating with IT and operations teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment of automation tools.
  • Maintaining and monitoring the automation solutions and acting when necessary.
  • Assisting in issue resolution to ensure the stability and reliability of automated systems.
  • Engaging with business stakeholders to ensure alignment between automation initiatives and business goals.
  • Unblocking pending topics and driving resolution through effective communication and coordination.
  • Acting as an Automation Advocate, supporting stakeholders and promoting initiatives.
  • Keeping up‑to‑date with the latest trends in automation and proactively recommending enhancements to strengthen the team's capabilities.
  • Promoting agility and continuous improvement in automation delivery.
Decision‑making authority
  • Autonomy to propose and implement automation solutions within defined business domains.
  • Authority to recommend tools, frameworks, and process improvements aligned with CoE strategy.
  • Expected to work independently on assigned automation projects, while escalating risks and blockers to senior leadership.
  • May contribute to strategic planning and prioritization of automation initiatives across departments.
Required qualifications
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or similar fields.
  • Solid experience with Power Platform, especially Power Automate, and familiarity with Power Apps, Power BI, and Dataverse.
  • Understanding of API integration, Logic Apps, and workflow orchestration.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional teams and communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a passion for process improvement and automation.
  • Basic knowledge of IT infrastructure (clients, servers, networks, SaaS).
  • Experience with AI tools/projects, including embedding AI models into workflows.
  • Understanding of OCR technologies and document processing.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and orchestration tools.
  • Foundation in software design principles and version control.
  • Knowledge of system integration via REST APIs.
  • Proficiency in Power Fx for advanced logic in Canvas Apps.
  • Familiarity with Power Platform governance, including DLP policies, environment strategy, and security standards.
  • Awareness of performance optimisation and security best practices in Power Platform solutions.
  • Proactive and responsible – able to work independently.
  • Team player with strong communication skills.
Nice to have
  • Proficiency with multiple automation platforms.
  • Experience with UiPath Maestro and Insights.
  • Familiarity with API integrations, Azure services, and Microsoft Dataverse.
  • Knowledge of process mining, task mining, or AI‑enhanced automation.
  • Certifications in Power Platform, UiPath, or other automation technologies.
  • Experience with large‑scale agile methodologies and working in cross‑functional teams.
  • Experience with Power Pages and Power Virtual Agents for building external‑facing apps and conversational interfaces.
  • Microsoft certifications such as PL‑900, PL‑100, PL‑200, or PL‑400.
