Job summary

SGL Carbon is seeking an Application Consultant to join our SAP Finance and Controlling team. You will help implement SAP S/4HANA and support Controlling after go-live, taking on increasing responsibility in design, implementation and support of CO processes.

We welcome both experienced SAP CO consultants and those with around 2 years of hands-on SAP CO. You will join a collaborative team, receive onboarding, and shape an exciting international transformation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business Administration, Controlling or related field, or strong IT-focused commercial training.
• Around 2 years of hands-on SAP CO experience or willingness to grow in an S/4HANA transformation.
• Strong analytical thinking and an interest in root-cause analysis of financial and operational data.
• Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with willingness to learn and develop professionally.
• Excellent English skills; German language is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design and configure Controlling (CO) processes in SAP S/4HANA.
• Contribute to topics like production costing, intercompany pricing, Material Ledger, Actual Costing, Margin Analysis.
• Support data migration with mapping, test runs, reconciliation and validation.
• Act as a point of contact for Controlling and Accounting after go-live; support closing processes and integrations with FI, MM, SD, and PP.

We are currently transitioning from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA and are looking for a motivated Application Consultant to join our SAP Finance and Controlling team. You will actively contribute to the implementation of our new S/4HANA system and support our Controlling processes after go-live.

Whether you are an experienced SAP CO consultant seeking a new challenge, or you have around 2 years of hands-on SAP CO experience and are looking to develop your expertise further, we look forward to receiving your application. You will join a collaborative team, receive a structured onboarding, and have the opportunity to shape an exciting international S/4HANA transformation.

Depending on your experience, you will take on increasing responsibility in the design, implementation, and support of our Controlling processes.

As part of our S/4HANA project, you will:

• Support the design and configuration of Controlling (CO) processes in SAP S/4HANA
• Contribute to key topics such as production costing, intercompany pricing, Material Ledger, Actual Costing, Margin Analysis and much more
• Support data migration together with our migration partner, including mapping, test runs, reconciliation, and validation

After go-live, you will:

• Act as a point of contact for Controlling and Accounting regarding questions, incidents, and enhancement requests
• Support closing processes
• Work on integrations with FI, MM, SD, and PP, as well as related topics such as e-invoicing
• Continuously optimize processes and contribute to the further development of our SAP landscape

Your Profile

More important to us than meeting every requirement is your curiosity, initiative, and willingness to quickly familiarize yourself with complex Controlling topics.

What you bring:

• A degree in Business Administration, Business Informatics, Controlling, or a comparable field, or completed commercial training with a strong IT focus
• Experienced SAP CO consultants will find exciting opportunities to take on greater responsibility in our S/4HANA transformation
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with SAP CO, gained through professional experience, a trainee program, or a comparable role.
• Strong analytical thinking and an interest in understanding the root causes behind financial and operational data
• A proactive, committed, and solution-oriented way of working
• A strong willingness to learn and develop professionally
• Very good English skills; German is an advantage

Ideally, you also have knowledge of:

• SAP S/4HANA projects or implementations
• Material Ledger and Actual Costing
• Cost Accounting and Margin Analysis
• Profit Center Accounting
• Universal Journal and closing processes
• Controlling processes in a manufacturing environment
