Job summary

WTW group, based in Lisbon, seeks an experienced AI Tech Lead to set the technical direction for AI solutions within Retirement AI & Automation CoE. You will guide architecture, prototyping, engineering and production, shaping patterns that enable safe, scalable AI delivery.

You will mentor engineers and collaborate with stakeholders across GB, Europe, North America and International markets, driving a blended AI and automation capability.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML engineering, low-code automation or solution architecture.
• Hands-on delivery of Generative AI solutions in production (LLMs, RAG, AI agents).
• Strong programming skills in Python; C#/.NET, TypeScript considered a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure.
• Experience in data engineering and integration (APIs, data pipelines).
• Experience defining architecture standards and AI governance at team/department level.
• Familiarity with secure AI design and Responsible AI practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design of AI initiatives end-to-end from architecture to production deployment.
• Design scalable Generative AI and agentic solutions using Foundry, Azure and other WTW platforms.
• Decide when AI, low-code automation, or conventional code is best and combine them where needed.
• Define data access patterns for AI solutions using Fabric and Fabric IQ with proper security controls.
• Create reusable AI blueprints and architecture patterns to speed delivery.
• Oversee platform foundations: environments, CI/CD, security and cost control.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with stakeholders across markets.
