Job summary

Match Profiler is seeking an experienced Data Scientist in Portugal to lead end-to-end ML initiatives. You will work on data understanding, modelling, deployment, and evaluation within a collaborative team.

Key requirements include strong English, 5+ years in DS/ML, Python with libraries, cloud experience (AWS preferred), and familiarity with LLM/Generative AI tools. The role offers onboarding, feedback, and a close-knit team.

Qualifications

• Strong command of data science concepts around EDA, modelling and evaluation
• Proficiency in Python and DS frameworks (scikit, pytorch, keras, pandas)
• Experience with data preparation/transformation (SQL, pandas)
• Direct experience with cloud infrastructure; AWS preferred
• Experience with LLM, RAG, prompt engineering and Generative AI
• Experience with MLOps solutions (MLflow, Databricks) is valued
• Software engineering practices (Git, CI/CD, unit testing) valued

What we are looking for

Hard Skills:

• Strong fluency (i.e. CEFR level C) in English, written and spoken, is mandatory.
• At least 5 years of direct professional experience in Data Science / ML projects.
• Professional experience in end-to-end data science / machine learning initiatives, encompassing data understanding, preparation, modelling and evaluation, and deployment, is mandatory.
• Solid command of data science concepts and principles - especially around EDA, modelling and evaluation - is mandatory.
• Professional experience with Python and industry standard Python data science / ML frameworks (e.g. scikit, pytorch, keras, opencv, pandas, others) is mandatory.
• Professional experience in data preparation/transformation (e.g. SQL, pandas) is mandatory.
• Direct professional experience with cloud infrastructure is mandatory, AWS is highly preferred.
• Experience with LLM, RAG, prompt engineering and Generative AI (e.g. OpenAI, Bedrock) technologies is mandatory.
• Professional experience with MLOps solutions (e.g. MLflow, Databricks) is highly valued.
• Professional experience with software engineering best practices and tools (Git, CI/CD, unit testing) is highly valued.
