Decskill is seeking an AI Engineer to join its Intelligent Automation and AI team in Portugal. You will design, develop and improve production-grade AI agents, focusing on agent reasoning, tool integration, prompts, evaluation and observability for business operations.

You will collaborate with analysts and engineers to translate processes into robust AI behaviors, ensuring reliability, scaling and quality in production environments across a multicultural team.

Qualificações

• 3–6 years of Python development experience.
• 1–2 years working with LLM/Generative AI applications.
• Experience with at least one AI agent framework (LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen).
• Strong knowledge of prompt engineering.
• Experience with REST and/or gRPC APIs.
• Knowledge of JSON Schema design.
• Experience with asynchronous Python.
• Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong testing culture with pytest.
• Ability to translate business requirements into reliable technical solutions.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain AI agents using Python, LangGraph, LangChain and internal AI frameworks.
• Design agent workflows, including task decomposition, tool and function calling, memory and state management.
• Implement guardrails and human-in-the-loop checkpoints for controlled processes.
• Engineer, test and version prompts with proper configuration and release management.
• Build and maintain AI evaluation frameworks using real business cases and datasets.
• Develop regression test suites and quality metrics (accuracy, groundedness, escalation rates).
• Perform shadow testing and validation before production rollout.
• Adapt AI agents to business requirements, including terminology and workflows.
• Instrument AI agents for observability: logging, token usage, latency, failure analysis.
• Contribute to model lifecycle management and provider changes.
• Analyse cost and latency when selecting AI solutions.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and technical teams to translate processes into AI behavior.
• Ensure reliability, scalability and quality of AI in production environments.
• Work within a multicultural and international team.

We are looking for an AI Engineer | GenAI!

Mission:

As part of an Intelligent Automation and AI team, you will be responsible for designing, developing and continuously improving production-grade AI agents supporting business operations. You will work on agent reasoning flows, tool integration, prompts, evaluation and observability, while adapting general‑purpose AI solutions to specific business requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain AI agents using Python, LangGraph, LangChain and internal AI frameworks.
• Design agent workflows, including task decomposition, tool and function calling, memory and state management.
• Implement appropriate guardrails and human-in-the-loop checkpoints for controlled business processes.
• Engineer, test and version prompts, ensuring proper configuration and release management.
• Build and maintain AI evaluation frameworks using real business cases and golden datasets.
• Develop regression test suites and quality metrics, including accuracy, groundedness and escalation rates.
• Perform shadow testing and validation before production rollout.
• Adapt general‑purpose AI agents to specific business requirements, including terminology, formats, workflows and controls.
• Instrument AI agents for observability, including structured logging, token usage, latency and failure analysis.
• Contribute to model lifecycle management, including model and provider changes and context window considerations.
• Analyse cost and latency trade‑offs when selecting and implementing AI solutions.
• Collaborate closely with Business Analysts and technical teams to translate business processes and operational knowledge into AI agent behaviour.
• Ensure the reliability, scalability and quality of AI solutions in production environments.
• Work collaboratively within a multicultural and international team.

Requirements:

• 3–6 years of experience in Python development.
• At least 1–2 years of experience working with LLM/Generative AI applications.
• Practical experience with at least one AI agent framework, such as:
• CrewAI
• LangGraph
• LangChain
• AutoGen
• Similar frameworks
• Understanding of ReAct-style agent loops, tool calling and structured outputs.
• Strong knowledge of prompt engineering.
• Experience with RAG patterns and LLM evaluation techniques.
• Experience consuming REST and/or gRPC APIs.
• Knowledge of JSON Schema design.
• Experience with asynchronous Python.
• Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to deploy applications, read logs and safely manage Kubernetes ConfigMaps.
• Strong testing culture and experience with pytest.
• Experience mocking LLM calls and designing deterministic tests for non-deterministic AI systems.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into reliable technical solutions.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
