IT House in Lisbon is recruiting an AI Engineer to join a client in the automotive sector. You will embed within engineering teams to build AI-enabled features, govern AI agents, and modernize legacy environments. You will contribute production code across modern and legacy stacks and mentor engineers.

The role requires 8+ years of backend experience, 2+ years with LLMs in production, and fluency in English. Hybrid work model in Lisbon and other corporate benefits are provided.

Qualificações

• Minimum 8 years of backend development experience.
• Hands-on 2+ years with LLMs and agentic systems in production.
• Experience with AI tools like Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code in teams.
• Familiarity with legacy stacks (Delphi/COBOL/Java) is a plus.
• Experience with scalable web services, distributed systems and cloud.

IT House is recruiting a AI Engineer for a client in the automotive industry, based in Lisbon.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• - Embed within engineering teams to plan, build, test, and ship features using AI coding agents and agentic methodologies;
• - Configure, integrate, and govern AI development agents (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code), defining team-level standards, guardrails, and review workflows for AI-generated code;
• - Adapt agentic workflows to legacy environments (Delphi, COBOL, FoxPro, PowerBuilder, WinDev, Visual Basic, Java), covering codebase comprehension, test generation, refactoring, and modernization support;
• - Design, build, and operate agentic systems and shared capabilities across products (orchestration, RAG, planning, memory, observability);
• - Integrate commercial and open-source LLMs into production workflows, balancing capability, cost, latency, and data protection;
• - Contribute production code across modern (C#, .NET Core, React, TypeScript) and legacy stacks, establishing automated testing practices and conducting code reviews;
• - Mentor engineers, run enablement sessions, and document playbooks and standards that outlive the engagement.

PROFILE

• - More than 8 years of backend experience;
• - More than 2 years of hands-on experience with LLMs and agentic systems in production;
• - Experience with GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code (or similar) in team settings;
• - Experience with large/legacy codebases (Delphi, COBOL, FoxPro, PowerBuilder, WinDev, Visual Basic, or Java is a plus);
• - Experience with scalable web services, distributed systems, Agile/DevOps, and cloud (Azure, AWS, or GCP);
• - Prior experience as an embedded consultant or transformation lead is a strong plus;
• - Fluent English (mandatory); French/Spanish a plus.
