Job summary

Metyis is seeking an AI Data Governance Lead for a full-time role in Porto. You will guide data governance from concept to practice, engaging senior stakeholders across Data, AI, IT and Privacy to embed governance into daily workflows.

You will shape ownership frameworks, drive governance adoption, and develop templates, playbooks and accelerators for scalable impact in complex enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• 4-6+ years in Data Governance, Data Management or related field with exposure to AI governance.
• Experience initiating governance from scratch with sponsor and stakeholder buy-in.
• Strong knowledge of data ownership, stewardship, metadata and lineage.
• Understanding of how data quality, privacy and security affect AI solutions.
• Familiarity with governance frameworks and tools like Collibra or Purview.

Responsibilities

• Turn Data and AI Governance from concept to daily practice with measurable business value.
• Identify priority stakeholders and governance gaps with cross-functional teams.
• Define clear ownership and accountability for data assets across orgs.
• Facilitate workshops to align business and technical stakeholders on governance needs.
• Translate governance challenges into actionable implementation roadmaps.
• Support embedding governance into day-to-day data workflows and AI usage.
• Collaborate with AI, Data, Architecture, Privacy and Security teams to ensure trusted data foundations.
• Assess governance considerations for AI solutions, including privacy and security.
• Participate in governance forums and document decisions, risks and responsibilities.
• Create reusable templates, playbooks and accelerators for projects and clients.
