SGL Carbon's Shared Services Center in Alhos Vedros, Portugal is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist (m/f/d) for a sick leave cover. The role supports AP processes, vendor management, and cross-site collaboration in a hybrid environment.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in finance or related field, is fluent in English and German, and has strong communication and organizational skills. SAP experience is a strong advantage.

Alhos Vedros, Portugal SGL Business Services (SBS), located in Alhos Vedros, Portugal, is a key Shared Services Center of the SGL Carbon Group. Since 2016, SBS has been delivering high-quality support in Finance, Procurement, and IT to multiple global sites.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as an: Accounts Payable Specialist (m/f/d) - (Temporary Position - Sick Leave Cover)

Your responsibilities include:

• Handling the full accounts payable process with efficiency and attention to detail
• Verifying invoice amounts, payment terms, and applicable sales tax
• Ensuring correct coding of down payments and invoices to general ledger accounts
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date vendor records
• Communicating with vendors to resolve discrepancies, confirm payments, and secure available cash discounts
• Investigating and resolving outstanding balances via phone, email, or mail
• Collaborating with global production sites and corporate teams

Your profile:

• A university degree in Management, Accounting, or Finance, or relevant experience in a similar role
• Fluency in English and German (mandatory); additional language skills in Polish, French, Portuguese, or Italian are a plus
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• A professional, collaborative, and solution-focused attitude in interactions with internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently
• Ability to thrive both as an individual contributor and as part of a team
• Prior experience with SAP is a strong advantage
