Job summary

Dauch Corporation is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our finance team in Portugal. You will ensure the accuracy of the General Ledger and financial statements, perform month-end activities, post journals, and reconcile GL accounts.

The role involves collaboration with global finance teams, preparation of monthly reports, and support for cash remittances, AR aging, and collection processes, with a focus on process improvements within a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an accountant.
• Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
• Strong financial, analytical and communication skills.
• Self-organisation and time management.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, processes and workflow technology.
• Ability to work unsupervised and deliver high quality work to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process the cash remittances application (cash allocation) on a daily basis.
• Prepare reports detailing balances due or what to collect from customers at a point in time.
• Support AR aging analysis with operational info examining balance statements of accountholders.
• Prepare credit / collection reports.
• Work closely with other Finance teams, such as the GL team, for support.
• Provide feedback to line manager.
• Execute month-end tasks for assigned market: AR reconciliations, reports, ageing, booking of AR entries/documents.
• Propose changes to processes and pursue continuous improvement.
• Participate in and lead team projects when required.

Job Description Summary

What’s the role about?
We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our team. You will add value and will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the General Ledger and financial statements. This includes performing month-end activities, calculating and posting journals (including accruals), GL account reconciliations, reviewing and analysing the General Ledger.

What you'll do?

• Support the AR aging analysis with operational information examining balance statements of accountholders.
• Prepare credit / collection reports
• Work closely with other Finance teams, such as the GL team, in the provision of support to colleagues.
• Ensure feedback to line manager.
• Execution of month-end task of assigned market: AR reconciliations, reports, ageing, booking of AR entries/documents, etc.
• Propose changes to processes, continuous improvement mindset
• Participation and lead when required Team projects
