SBM Offshore in Porto invites an Accountant for an eight-month temporary position. The role covers local and international entity accounting under IFRS and local GAAP, with tax and treasury involvement.

Key tasks include monthly closings, IFRS consolidation analysis, audit liaison, contract reviews, and preparation of tax packages. A finance-related degree and minimum two years' experience are required, with IFRS knowledge and ERP proficiency highly valued.

Qualificações

• Bachelor-level or equivalent in accounting/finance required.
• Minimum 2 years in accounting/audit environment or similar.
• Knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP beneficial.
• Experience with IFRS 15/IFRS 16 and IAS 37 a plus.
• Strong IT skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint; ERP proficiency.
• Excellent internal controls and process improvement mindset.

Purpose

In the role of Accountant you will be responsible for accounting related topics for the local and/or international entities (under IFRS and local GAAP), with a substantial involvement in tax and treasury.

Responsibilities

Daily tasks / responsibilities:

• Ensure Group accounting policies are applied.
• Ensure internal control procedures are applied (IcoFr framework).
• Participate in the efficiency and continuous improvement of processes and tools.

Monthly tasks / responsibilities:

• Perform monthly closing tasks.
• Provide monthly package to partners when applicable.
• Review monthly package received from partners when applicable.

Quarterly tasks / responsibilities:

• Analyze balance sheet at consolidation level, IFRS, and Directional reporting.
• Participate in contract analysis and related legal documents (Shareholders Agreement, service agreement, etc.).
• Provide audit package and liaise with external auditors.
• Handle ad hoc requests from Accounting Lead/Manager.
• Prepare tax package for the Group in cooperation with the Tax Manager.
• Liaise with partners to obtain accurate data when applicable.

Semi‑Annual and Annual tasks / responsibilities:

• Participate in tax reporting.
• Prepare financial statements for entities under your scope, including audit and filing.
• Support partners with their financial statements.
• Conduct ad hoc audit missions if needed.

Education

• Business School or financial & accounting related degree.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a related environment or an audit firm.
• Proficiency with IT tools, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
• Experience with audit processes.
• Experience with internal control.
• Knowledge of IFRS 15 Revenue Recognition, IFRS 16 Leases, IAS 37 provisions, contingent liabilities and assets, and others.
• Knowledge of statutory accounting and tax requirements in an international environment.
