HSBC Holdings plc in Kraków is seeking a Vice President, Resilience Risk Assurance to lead end-to-end assurance reviews over resilience risks and controls across the bank's global businesses.

You will assess the design and operational effectiveness of controls, communicate clear conclusions to Risk Owners and senior stakeholders, and guide a team while upholding independence of the assurance function.

Join HSBC’s Risk & Compliance Assurance team as a Vice President, Resilience Risk Assurance. In this key Review Lead role, you’ll provide independent, insightful and consistent assurance over resilience risks and controls across our global businesses and functions.

You’ll help assess whether risk management activities are designed and operating effectively, aligned with HSBC’s Risk Management Framework, industry standards, regulatory expectations and internal policy. Working across a diverse international stakeholder group, you’ll lead high-quality assurance reviews, identify emerging risks and help strengthen the bank’s resilience.

The role covers Business Interruption and Incident Risk, Data Risk, Third-Party Risk, Transaction and Payment Processing Risk, and resilience-related Regulatory Obligations. Technology, Cyber, Facilities and Regulatory Reporting assurance are outside the scope of this role.

What you’ll do

Lead end-to-end assurance reviews over resilience risks and controls, ensuring work is well scoped, risk-based, consistent and delivered to a high standard.
Provide subject-matter expertise across Business Interruption and Incident Risk, Data Risk, Third-Party Risk, Transaction and Payment Processing Risk, and resilience-related regulatory obligations.
Assess the design and operational effectiveness of controls and communicate clear, actionable conclusions to Risk Owners, Control Owners and Risk Stewards.
Identify emerging risks, country and regional trends, and thematic issues to support the continuous development of the global assurance programme.
Ensure findings, issues and escalations are accurately reported, well evidenced and communicated in a timely manner.
Build effective relationships with senior stakeholders across Assurance, Resilience Risk, Compliance, GCCOO, Group Internal Audit and relevant country teams, while preserving the independence of the assurance function.
Work with the three lines of defence to coordinate assurance activity, reduce duplication and ensure appropriate coverage.
Lead, develop and support a team of assurance professionals, managing resources and costs within agreed budgets and supporting delivery of the Assurance Plan.

What you need to succeed in this role

Extensive knowledge of resilience risks and controls, with proven experience in assurance, risk testing or a related control environment.
Strong understanding of resilience risk within the global financial services industry.
Relevant external financial services qualification or professional accreditation.
Proven experience leading assurance reviews and interpreting complex risk, control and regulatory matters.
Excellent people‑management skills, with experience developing professionals and leading teams in a matrix environment.
Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills, with the confidence to engage senior managers, technical experts and business stakeholders.
Sound judgement, decision‑making ability and a proactive approach to resolving complex issues independently.
Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to produce clear reports and present insights effectively to senior audiences.

What we offer

The pay range for this role is 19275 PLN - 28916PLN (monthly, gross).

Additional car allowance in the amount of 4,786 PLN (monthly, gross).

Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
