Job summary

HSBC Holdings plc in Kraków seeks an experienced risk professional to support the redesign of Strategic Execution Risk and its enterprise-wide implementation. You will translate new risk models into daily processes, deliver reporting, and partner with senior stakeholders to embed improved execution across Strategy, Finance and Risk functions.

Global Enterprise Risk Management is part of Group Risk and Compliance and helps ensure HSBC has a coherent Risk Management Framework, Risk Taxonomy and tools to operate within its Global Risk Appetite and manage its overall risk position. Within ERM, Strategic Risk provides enterprise-wide oversight and challenge on the most material risks to HSBC’s strategy, its delivery, and the Bank’s ability to respond at pace to external change. This role supports the design and implementation of a refreshed Strategic Execution Risk approach, moving from a change-management lens to a broader, enterprise-wide view of execution against the Bank’s strategy, working closely with senior stakeholders to embed new ways of working.

What you’ll do

• Support senior leadership in London to plan the redesigned Strategic Execution Risk approach, including sequencing, stakeholder engagement and practical implementation.
• Translate the refreshed model into day-to-day processes, tools, reporting, cadence, ownership and governance.
• Manage the transition from the current approach to the new model, maintaining continuity of essential deliverables and oversight throughout.
• Create training and enablement materials such as guidance, playbooks, templates and communications to embed consistent execution risk practices.
• Produce portfolio management information and insights, highlighting themes, emerging risks and areas requiring senior attention.
• Support targeted deep dives on key portfolios, providing outcome-focused oversight and constructive risk-based challenge.
• Build and maintain strong relationships across Strategy, Business Lines, Finance and Risk and Compliance to drive alignment and accountability.
• Partner with oversight functions and Internal and External Audit to maintain a holistic view of risk and drive timely closure of audit issues and findings.

What you need to have to succeed in this role

• Strong understanding of risk management in a large, complex financial institution and how it supports strategic objectives and safe growth.
• Good knowledge of the regulatory landscape affecting bank risk management, with the ability to assess implications of proposed regulatory change.
• Deep technical understanding of risk identification, assessment, monitoring, control and mitigation, with a commitment to strong risk culture.
• Proven stakeholder management skills, able to gain buy-in and deliver through influence across senior, matrixed and multi-location teams.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesise complex, ambiguous information into clear, actionable insights for decision-makers.
• Excellent written communication skills, with experience producing Executive and Board-ready materials and high-quality risk management information.
• Confidence to exercise sound judgement, provide effective challenge and communicate complex concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Track record as a collaborative change agent who can standardise, drive continuous improvement, escalator proportionately and deliver at pace.

What we offer

The pay range for this role is 21258 PLN - 31800 PLN (monthly, gross).

Additional car allowance in the amount of 4,786 PLN (monthly, gross).

Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
