Job summary

UpcoMinds is seeking an experienced System Analyst to join our team and drive analysis, design and delivery of enterprise-level software solutions. You will translate business needs into technical requirements, collaborate with managers, end users and developers, and own requirements across the full lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Systems and Business Analysis, software development, and UML modelling, with hands-on Sparx Enterprise Architect experience and Agile/Scrum

Qualifications

• 6+ years of proven professional experience in Business Analysis, Systems Analysis or Systems Development.
• At least 8 years of combined post-secondary education and professional experience.
• Level 6 degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field.
• C1 level of English according to CEFR.
• Participation in at least 4 enterprise-level projects in System/Business Analysis roles.
• Experience creating process, system documentation and analytical reports.
• Hands-on experience with Enterprise Architect (Sparx Systems).
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience in project management and user acceptance/testing management.

We are looking for an experienced System Analyst to join our team and contribute to the analysis, design and delivery of enterprise-level software solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Systems Analysis, Business Analysis and Software Development, with proven experience translating business and user needs into clear technical requirements, system specifications and architectural designs.

You will work closely with managers, end users, developers, engineers, technical teams and business stakeholders, taking ownership of requirements and supporting solutions throughout the complete software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with managers, end users and stakeholders to understand business objectives, user needs and system requirements.

• Translate business, user and technical needs into clear and actionable technical specifications.

• Gather, analyse, document and manage functional and non-functional requirements.

• Analyse existing systems, processes and technologies and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Identify and evaluate potential technical solutions and provide recommendations.

• Perform cost-benefit analysis for potential system upgrades and technology changes to support informed decision-making.

• Create and maintain HLA, HLD and TDD documents, system models, diagrams and technical specifications.

• Use UML to model processes, systems, components and interactions.

• Contribute to application and data architecture design and define relevant architectural elements.

• Translate requirements into technical designs and provide clear direction to software developers and engineers.

• Participate in prototyping, system design, testing, quality assurance, change management and deployment.

• Analyse and optimise solutions for performance, security, scalability and quality.

• Define and promote software development and documentation standards.

• Propose technical solutions for business requirements and complex technical problems.

• Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to junior analysts and other team members.

Requirements

• 6+ years of proven professional experience in Business Analysis, Systems Analysis or Systems Development.

• At least 8 years of combined post-secondary education and professional experience.

• Level 6 degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field.

• C1 level of English, according to CEFR.

• Proven participation in at least 4 successfully implemented enterprise-level projects, covering the complete solution lifecycle, in roles such as System Analyst or Business Analyst.

• Practical experience in creating process documentation, system documentation and analytical reports.

• Hands‑on experience with Enterprise Architect (Sparx Systems).

• Experience working as part of software development teams, preferably within an Agile/Scrum environment.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Proven experience in project management and user acceptance/user testing management.

• Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.

• Demonstrated ability to translate complex data and analysis into clear, actionable insights.

• Ability to work independently and provide guidance to junior team members.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Technical Expertise

Systems Analysis & Architecture

• Expert-level knowledge of Systems Analysis, particularly within Microsoft technology environments.

• Expert knowledge of UML and system modelling.

• Strong understanding of Application Architecture and Data Architecture and their key components.

• Strong knowledge of software and systems development methodologies.

• Thorough understanding of Microsoft technologies, capabilities and limitations.

• Experience producing HLA, HLD and TDD documentation.

• Ability to translate business and functional requirements into technical designs and system specifications.
