Job summary

Reap is seeking a Staff Engineer to be the senior technical owner of the embedded finance platform. This is a non-management, high-leverage role driving architectural direction, AI adoption, and cross-team influence to scale our payments and issuance infrastructure.

You will shape platform roadmaps, establish coding standards, and mentor engineers across the Card domain while collaborating closely with Card Engineering Managers to ensure delivery aligns with product goals.

Qualifications

10+ years of software engineering experience with leadership at Staff/Principal level.
Deep experience in distributed systems, API platform architecture, or financial infrastructure at scale.
Able to drive large, multi-team technical initiatives without direct authority.
Strong systems thinking for fault-tolerance, observability, data consistency and performance.

Responsibilities

Define and drive the technical roadmap for the embedded finance platform, focusing on scalability and modernization.
Lead AI-assisted engineering adoption across Product Engineering teams and integrate AI tooling into workflows.
Collaborate with Card Engineering Managers to align platform direction with product delivery and provide hands-on guidance.
