Job summary

Avient Corporation is seeking a Senior Accountant who will support several countries, including Poland and Hungary, with monthly close, statutory accounts, and audits. The role requires coordination with Finance, Tax, Treasury, and Legal teams to ensure compliance with global accounting policies.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, 3+ years of accounting and tax experience (Big 4 a plus), and strong English and Hungarian language skills.

Job Description

Senior Accountant, based out of Konstantynów Łódzki or Kutno in Poland or in Győr in Hungary is a key role supporting several countries like Hungary, Chech Republic,. This role has primary responsibility for preparation and support of various aspects of the monthly close process, responsible for preparing statutory accounts, managing audits, support for tax provision and tax filling, following global accounting policies and other ad‑hoc projects for the region.

This role faces several key customers as part of both daily responsibilities and as part of project teams, including Finance, Business Unit Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal and Corporate Accounting.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and maintenance of accurate and timely monthly reporting and statutory accounts in compliance with relevant regulations and standards
• Completion of Balance sheet Reconciliation
• Lead the Tax provision and work with the Provider to prepare Tax Return
• Support and Complete Monthly VAT Returns and Intrastat Reports
• Supporting Other Countries for VAT Check and Reconciliation
• Completion of national statistics reports if needed
• Providing oversight on certain control reviews and control implementation
• Working with Internal and External Auditors to support Avient’s audit requirements
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the finance function, implementing best practices to enhance productivity and accuracy.
• Support regional and corporate initiatives
• Other projects according to business requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3 years + experience in Accounting and Corporate Income Tax with preference experience with a Big 4
• Required proficiency in written and spoken English and Hungarian, any other European language is a strong asset
• Strong communication skills
• Organizational skills, a self-starter with high level of analytical skills and resilience
• Working knowledge of SAP highly desirable
