Job summary

Arrow Electronics in Poland is seeking a Senior General Ledger Accountant with German to join a large, international GL team responsible for accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, and month-end close across Europe. The role offers exposure to audits, cross-border projects, and continuous process improvements in a dynamic finance environment.

The position involves VAT preparation, reconciliations, internal reporting to US head office, CIT, SOX controls, statutory accounting, and ad-hoc

Qualifications

• VAT and CIT reporting experience within EU is essential.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and general accounting proficiency.
• Fluent English and working German (B2-C1) required.
• Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills are necessary.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit VAT, Intrastat and Sales List reporting.
• Reconcile VAT accounts and ensure accurate VAT coding on invoices.
• Produce internal reporting schedules for Europe and the US office.
• Support CIT reporting packages and Sarbanes-Oxley controls.
• Assist with audits, tax authority inquiries and ad-hoc tasks.
• Contribute to process improvements within the accounting team.
• Collaborate with colleagues to meet finance department needs.

Senior General Ledger Accountant with German

As a Senior General Ledger Accountant, you will be part of a large, international GL team responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, and month‑end close activities across the European region. The role offers exposure to audits, cross‑border projects, and continuous process improvements in a dynamic finance environment.

What will you be doing?

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Include

• VAT Preparation & Submission: Control and prepare VAT, Intrastat and Sales List Reporting, submission of Vat Returns, Intrastat declarations and related compliance.
• Reconciliation & Compliance: Reconcile VAT accounts , ensuring the accuracy of VAT coding on invoices, and maintaining compliance with local tax authority guidelines. Prepare VAT to GL, CIT & other complex balance sheet reconciliations.
• Internal Reporting: Prepare and be responsible for all necessary internal reporting schedules required within Europe and to US head office on a monthly & quarterly basis.
• CIT: Facilities CIT reporting packages
• SOX: Carries out relevant Sarbanes Oxley controls.
• Statutory accounting and corporation tax work & the related reconciliations.
• Audit Support: Liaising with tax authorities and assisting with VAT audits and inquiries.
• Project work: e-Invoicing, European consolidation & other projects. Provide support and assistance to the Accounting Manager on ad-hoc tasks.
• Involvement with developing new/efficient processes/procedures within the accounting team.
• Identify process problems and propose improvements or course of action. Research accounting literature.
• Support other accountants within the team on a variety of tasks to meet the total needs of the finance department.

What are we looking for?

We would be happy to meet candidates who meet the following criteria:

• Strong experience with VAT and CIT (Corporate income taxes) reporting within EU region, all-around accounting & complex balance sheet reconciliations
• Very good knowledge of general accounting and reporting processes, including IFRS compliance
• Fluent English & working German (B2-C1) language skills.
• Experience with financial analyses, accrued, prepaid taxes, journal entries, VAT & CIT balance sheet reconciliations, statutory accounts.
• Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills.
• You are a results‑driven person.
• You can work under pressure, with high volume of transactions, and meet deadlines.
• You’ve got the ability to prioritize your tasks.
