Job summary

UPM is seeking a Specialist, Sourcing Operations to join our team at UPM Business Hub Poland in Wrocław. This hybrid role will lead end-to-end sourcing projects with a direct materials focus, and manage contracts to create value and mitigate risk.

You will collaborate with diverse stakeholders, drive digital procurement initiatives, and monitor supplier performance to ensure continuous improvement across the supply base. Fluency in English is required and German is preferred.

• Master's degree or equivalent in procurement, business, or related field.
• Strong interest in technology, AI, digitalization, and innovation.
• Fluent in English; German required.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end sourcing projects with focus on direct materials (chemicals), using RFIs/RFPs/RFQs and e-auctions.
• Negotiate and manage contracts throughout their lifecycle with focus on value, compliance, and risk mitigation.
• Influence stakeholders and support strategic decision-making in complex procurement initiatives.
• Drive change using digital procurement tools and improved sourcing processes.
• Monitor supplier performance and build strong supplier relationships for continuous improvement in the supply base.

What you will do:

• Lead end-to-end sourcing projects with a strong focus on direct materials (chemicals), utilizing sourcing tools such as RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and e-auctions
• Follow sourcing strategies that deliver business value, identify cost optimization opportunities, and support organizational objectives
• Negotiate and manage contracts throughout their lifecycle, ensuring value creation, compliance, and effective risk mitigation
• Act as a trusted sourcing advisor, influencing stakeholders and supporting strategic decision-making in complex procurement initiatives
• Drive change and innovation by implementing new ways of working, leveraging digital procurement tools, and enhancing sourcing processes
• Monitor supplier performance, build strong supplier relationships, and drive continuous improvement across the supply base
• Champion procurement best practices, compliance, and risk management across sourcing and contracting activities
• Drive operational excellence by ensuring an efficient, effective, and streamlined Source-to-Contract process

Who you are:

• You hold a master's degree or another relevant professional qualification in procurement (direct materials), business, or a related field
• You have a strong interest in technology, AI, digitalization, and innovation
• You communicate fluently in English. German is required
• Experience with SAP Ariba and other digital sourcing and procurement tools is considered a strong asset
• You are a customer-focused and service-oriented professional with excellent communication, stakeholder management, influencing, and negotiation skills
• You build strong relationships, embrace diverse perspectives, and thrive in multicultural and cross-functional environments
• You are a collaborative team player who adapts quickly to change and brings an innovative mindset to solving challenges
• You demonstrate strong self-leadership, proactively take initiative, and continuously seek new opportunities to improve, learn, and create value
