UPM - The Biofore Company in Wrocław, Poland is seeking a Specialist, Sourcing Operations to lead end-to-end indirect sourcing projects, develop value-driven strategies, and negotiate contracts. The role emphasizes digital tools, cross-functional collaboration, and cost optimization.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in procurement, business, IT, or a related field.
• Strong interest in technology, AI, digitalization, and innovation.
• Fluent in English; additional languages like Finnish, German, or French are valued.
• Experience with SAP Ariba and other digital sourcing tools.
• Customer-focused, service-oriented with excellent communication and stakeholder skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end sourcing projects across indirect material categories using RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and e-auctions.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies to deliver value and cost optimization.
• Negotiate and manage contracts throughout their lifecycle with compliance and risk management.
• Act as a trusted sourcing advisor, influencing stakeholders and enabling strategic decisions.
• Drive change by implementing new ways of working and leveraging digital procurement tools.
• Monitor supplier performance and build strong supplier relationships for continuous improvement.
• Champion procurement best practices and risk management across activities.
• Drive efficient Source-to-Contract processes and overall operational excellence.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end sourcing projects across indirect material categories, utilizing sourcing tools such as RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and e-auctions
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies that deliver business value, identify cost optimization opportunities, and support organizational objectives
• Negotiate and manage contracts throughout their lifecycle, ensuring value creation, compliance, and effective risk mitigation
• Act as a trusted sourcing advisor, influencing stakeholders and supporting strategic decision-making in complex procurement initiatives
• Drive change and innovation by implementing new ways of working, leveraging digital procurement tools, and enhancing sourcing processes
• Monitor supplier performance, build strong supplier relationships, and drive continuous improvement across the supply base
• Champion procurement best practices, compliance, and risk management across sourcing and contracting activities
• Drive operational excellence by ensuring an efficient, effective, and streamlined Source-to-Contract process

Who you are

• You hold a master’s degree or another relevant professional qualification in procurement, business, IT, or a related field
• You have a strong interest in technology, AI, digitalization, and innovation. Experience in IT sourcing or procurement is an advantage
• You communicate fluently in English. Additional language skills relevant to UPM’s key markets, such as Finnish, German, or French, are highly valued
• Experience with SAP Ariba and other digital sourcing and procurement tools is considered a strong asset
• You are a customer-focused and service-oriented professional with excellent communication, stakeholder management, influencing, and negotiation skills
• You build strong relationships, embrace diverse perspectives, and thrive in multicultural and cross-functional environments

Additional information

This position offers a hybrid working model, combining remote work from home with regular on-site collaboration in Wrocław.

The position holder will report to Senior Manager, Sourcing and Procurement Operations.
