Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. in Kraków is seeking a Senior Tax Documentation Specialist to join our Global Tax Services team.

You will oversee collection, validation, and tracking of tax documents for our custody client base, ensuring accurate withholding setup and ongoing compliance. You will participate in client calls and due diligence visits, collaborate with client service and relationship managers on escalations, and help improve tax documentation processes in a fast-paced, client-driven

Qualifications

• BA/BS or equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
• Tax knowledge/experience preferred.
• Written and oral communication skills with ability to convey information to internal and external clients in a clear, concise manner.
• Highly organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, capable of monitoring and completing a variety of projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work in a high pressure, client-driven environment with daily deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative tasks related to reviewing, communicating, and maintaining custody clients’ tax documentation.
• Develop understanding of regulatory tax documentation requirements and withholding tax environments for assignment countries.
• Collaborate with Tax Research and Client Service to reconcile accounts and address escalations.
• Review account changes to assess impact on tax documentation and work with teams to resolve.
• Participate in client calls and due diligence visits and support onboarding of new funds.

In this role you will be responsible for the collection, validation, and tracking of tax documentation for our custody client base, ensuring the proper setup for initial tax withholding purposes, the proper maintenance for ongoing tax withholding purposes, and the resolution of client inquiries. This position entails participation in client calls and due diligence visits, for which strong English language communication skills are a necessity. The day to day also involves proactively working with client service and relationship managers on escalations of tax documentation/tax compliance issues and / or requirements for clients.In our team, you will be responsible for:Perform administrative matters with respect to the review, communication, and maintenance with respect to our custody clients’ tax documentation.Develop an understanding of the market’s regulatory environment, tax documentation requirements, eligible entity types, and withholding tax environment for assignment countries/client base.Perform account and market reconciliations often with the opportunity to collaborate with our Tax Research department.Review changes in account information to determine impact on client tax documentation and requirements and work together with Senior Analysts and Manager on resolutions.Participate in the solicitation process for new documentation, as necessary, as well as prior to expiration and work with assigned client service base to proactively solicit.Assume additional tax functions as business needs develop.Review and respond to internal client inquiries relating to tax compliance, tax reporting matters or tax documentation matters.Participate in client calls and due diligence visits.Escalate to manager on tax documentation/ compliance issues to mitigate risk for BBH and its clients.Work with the team to establish and/or improve procedures for tax compliance related activities.Assist with business requirements and testing of systems changes.Participate in client projects such as conversions/new fund launches to ensure tax documentation requirements are understood and met by the Client/Client Service Group.Proactively works with client service managers and relationship managers to escalate tax documentation / tax compliance requirements for clients.What we’re looking for:BA/BS or equivalent combination of experience and/or educationTax knowledge/ experience preferredWritten and oral communication skills with ability to convey information to internal and external clients in a clear, focused, assertive and concise manner.Highly organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, capable of monitoring and completing a variety of projects simultaneously.Ability to work in a potentially high pressure, client driven environment, under daily deadlinesWhat we offer:To encourage cultural awareness and philanthropy, BBHers have 1 Culture Celebration Day and 1 Community Service Day in addition to their paid standard vacation allowancePrivate medical careLife InsuranceEmployee Assistance Program - offering independent and confidential counselling services for you and your family.
