Job summary

Veeva Systems is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join the Vault Platform team. You will help scale and ensure reliability for enterprise applications running at a global scale, drawing on deep Java expertise and open-source technologies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Java development experience, preferably in enterprise cloud software
• Hands-on operational experience in high-volume production environments
• Proven ability to write clean, maintainable code in a team setting
• Experience with Spring, MySQL, Hibernate, Solr, Maven, Git, Tomcat, Linux, AWS, Vagrant, Docker and Kubernetes
• 3+ years of SQL experience in relational databases
• Proficient scripting in Shell, Bash, Ansible, Python, Go, Ruby, etc.
• Demonstrated incident management leadership and clear cross-level communication
• Mentorship track record improving team performance

Responsibilities

• Build scalable cloud infrastructure from scratch following best practices
• Ensure reliability and scalability for hundreds of global customers
• Lead incident triage and mitigation with potential on-call rotations
• Develop tools to automate repetitive tasks and reduce resolution times
• Gain full-stack diagnostics knowledge to identify root causes of production issues
• Collaborate with engineering to design scalable features and architectures
• Guide design reviews and drive operational efficiency across the platform
• Partner with Product, Design, and QA to deliver customer value
• Work across backend, with opportunities in frontend and infrastructure
• Mentor team members to foster a high-performing, collaborative environment
