Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join the Virtualization & Host Platforms team, focusing on the host Linux platform from hardware to guest environments. You will work on kernel and OS optimization for KVM/QEMU, automate processes, and drive scalable infrastructure at a cloud scale.

You will contribute to CI/CD initiatives, develop automation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production challenges in Akamai Cloud fleet.

Qualifications

• Expert level experience in Linux internals, system administration, and hardware understanding.
• Advanced experience with the Linux kernel, OS, and configuring for KVM/QEMU virtualization.
• Advanced experience in designing, developing, and deploying software and infrastructure at scale.

Responsibilities

• Developing, testing, and distributing changes to software, services, and tools.
• Developing subject matter expertise in VHP components.
• Developing CI/CD pipelines to drive a sustainable infrastructure platform supply chain.
• Automating tooling and processes across environments.
• Collaborating with support, operations and engineering teams to troubleshoot complex problems
