Job summary

Akamai Technologies in Kraków is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our expert SRE team and help design, develop, and manage applications and infrastructure for Akamai's Compute products and services, maintaining reliability and scalability.

You will develop, test, and distribute changes to software, services, and tools; build CI/CD pipelines; and collaborate with support, operations and engineering teams to troubleshoot complex problems.

Qualifications

• Expert level Linux internals and system administration.
• Deep kernel knowledge and virtualization tuning for KVM/QEMU.
• Design, develop, deploy software and infrastructure at scale.
• Development or SRE experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with Shell scripts and Python code.
• Experience with SaltStack, Ansible, Kubernetes, Chef, or Puppet.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.

Join our highly skilled Site Reliability Engineering team. Our team designs, develops, and manages applications and infrastructure that support Akamai's Compute products and services, while maintaining the mission to make life better for billions of people.

Responsibilities

• Developing, testing, and distributing changes to software, services, and tools.
• Developing subject matter expertise in VHP components.
• Developing CI/CD pipelines to drive a highly sustainable infrastructure platform supply chain for our rapidly growing Akamai Cloud fleet.
• Comfortable working in new tooling, code and environments and automating what’s possible.
• Collaborating with our support, operations and engineering teams to troubleshoot complex problems.

Qualifications

• Possess expert level experience in Linux internals, system administration, and a deep understanding of underlying hardware.
• Possess advanced experience with the Linux kernel, OS, and optimization of their configurations for KVM/QEMU virtualization.
• Possess advanced level experience with designing, developing, and deploying software and infrastructure at scale.
• Advanced level experience in a Development or SRE role, preferably working with large scale distributed systems.
• Experienced with writing, modifying, and debugging Shell scripts and Python code.
• Experience with tools like SaltStack, Ansible, Kubernetes, Chef, or Puppet for managing infrastructure at scale.
• Have great communication and collaborative skills.
• Have relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
