Job summary

Akamai Technologies is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to help maintain and enhance the Compute platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to release new tooling and improve reliability across Compute services.

The role emphasizes automation, on-call incident response, and hands-on Linux + container expertise, aligning with Akamai's mission to deliver fast, secure, scalable cloud and edge services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience automating with Python and/or Golang; scripting with Bash.
• Understanding of reliability, observability, and SLOs.
• Experience with SaltStack, Terraform, Ansible and CI/CD (Jenkins).
• Hands-on Linux administration and Docker containers.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki and related tooling.

Responsibilities

• Provide mentorship and guidance for fellow SREs.
• Deploy and maintain platform and internal tools.
• Improve Compute Cloud Interface for faster detection and remediation.
• Develop automation to reduce toil and streamline daily tasks.
• Participate in on-call rotations and drive incident restoration.
• Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot escalations for customers.
