As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer in the Virtualization & Host Platforms (VHP) – Server Enablement & Qualification (SEQ) team, you will be at the forefront of Akamai Cloud Compute host and server technologies. VHP oversees all Linux platforms from hardware to guest systems, and SEQ works closely with next‑generation hardware teams to enable new hardware via our network bootstrapping service, develop firmware upgrade models, and coordinate with other VHP teams to deliver a cohesive, high‑performance solution for internal infrastructure customers and operators, ensuring all servers succeed in our datacenters.
You will have opportunities to write software that automates our processes, diagnose and resolve challenging production issues, drive initiatives to improve resource utilization and customer experience, and learn from a highly skilled engineering team. The role requires creative thinking combined with deep expertise in Linux systems engineering, performance tuning, hardware interfaces, systems administration, and configuration management.
