Job summary

Grid Dynamics is seeking a Senior Robotics Simulation Engineer to join a new simulation team building an AI-first platform on NVIDIA technologies for heavy machinery. You will connect robotics autonomy and simulation teams, bringing robot behavior into Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab and linking it to the autonomy stack via ROS 2.

You will design controllers, planners and learned policies for simulated robots, validate autonomy with scenario-based testing, and work on sim-to-real transfer with physics

Qualifications

• Commercial experience in robotics or autonomy engineering with a strong focus on simulation.
• Hands-on experience simulating robot or vehicle behavior with NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab.
• Proven experience connecting autonomy software to a simulator through ROS 2.
• Ability to implement and tune controllers and planners for simulated robots or vehicles.
• Track record of taking behaviors or tests from simulation to real hardware.
• Experience building simulation AI agents or automation in Python.

Responsibilities

• Bring robot and machine behavior into simulation and connect it to the autonomy stack through ROS 2 on a greenfield Isaac Sim / Isaac Lab platform.
• Build and tune controllers, planners and learned policies for simulated robots and vehicles in Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab.
• Support autonomy validation with scenario-based simulation tests.
• Close the sim-to-real gap with the team’s physics and sensor simulation engineers.
• Build agents that automate behavior testing and scenario runs, speeding up autonomy development.
