Job summary

Unikie is seeking a Senior Robotics Simulation Engineer to make robotics simulation a practical part of software development and testing. You will work with ROS 2 and Gazebo to turn simulation scenarios into repeatable tests with clear outcomes and useful evidence.

You will collaborate with software engineers on automation, test execution and reporting, with potential expansion to NVIDIA Isaac Sim and more complex scenarios.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developing or integrating software with ROS 2 and Gazebo.
• Experience with mobile robotics, autonomous vehicles or machine control.
• Strong C++ or Python skills.
• Confidence developing and debugging in Linux.
• Experience creating simulation scenarios or tests with measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Run, debug and extend an existing ROS 2/Gazebo simulation.
• Integrate autonomy and control software with simulated vehicles and sensors.
• Develop scenarios involving one or more independently controlled machines.
• Define measurable behaviour and implement automated validation checks.
• Investigate failures to determine whether they originate from software, scenario or simulation model.
• Assess required fidelity for vehicle and sensor tests.
• Make scenarios reproducible and suitable for automated execution.
• Help plan the next steps for a broader simulation and validation environment.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SENIOR ROBOTICS SIMULATION ENGINEER (ROS 2 / GAZEBO)

We are looking for a senior engineer to make robotics simulation a practical part of software development and testing. You will work on an existing ROS 2 and Gazebo environment, turning simulation scenarios into repeatable tests with clear outcomes and useful evidence.

You will collaborate with software engineers working on automation, test execution and reporting. The work starts with the current simulation setup and can later expand to NVIDIA Isaac Sim and more complex scenarios.

What You Will Do

• Run, debug and extend an existing ROS 2/Gazebo simulation
• Integrate autonomy and control software with simulated vehicles and sensors
• Develop scenarios involving one or more independently controlled machines
• Define measurable behaviour and help implement automated validation checks
• Investigate whether failures come from the software, scenario or simulation model
• Assess what level of vehicle and sensor fidelity each test requires
• Make scenarios reproducible and suitable for automated execution
• Help plan the next steps for a broader simulation and validation environment

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
