Job summary

Aptiv PLC in Kraków is seeking an Optical Systems Engineer to develop and design optical systems for vision applications, perform light simulations, and prepare detailed specifications.

The role requires a Master’s in Physics/Optics/Photonics, familiarity with radiometry/photometry, and experience with ray-trace tools (LightTools, Zemax, Imatest). Proficiency in Python/Matlab/C++ and strong English communication are valued.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physics, Optics or Photonics.
• Experience in design of optical components and/or systems.
• Familiarity with radiometry and photometry.
• Knowledge of aberrations in optical systems.
• Experience with ray-trace software: LightTools, Zemax, Imatest.
• Python, Matlab or C++ is a plus.
• Good verbal and written English communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design optical systems for vision solutions.
• Prepare optical systems specifications.
• Light simulations.
• Radiometric and photometric measurements at a modern optical lab.
• Evaluate vision system performance.
• Create testing methodologies and tools for optical purposes.
• Support product design development, including optomechanical elements.
• Review customer specifications and document requirements.
• Support validation tests and production processes.
• Design light source focusing elements for camera systems.
• Technical problem solving and design optimization.
• Contact with customers and suppliers.
