Job summary

Creotech Instruments is seeking a Senior Optical Systems Engineer to lead the development of space-grade optical instruments. You will drive system-level engineering across the full lifecycle, coordinating with optics, mechanics, electronics, software and mission operations to deliver high-performance payloads.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Optical Engineering, Optoelectronics, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in space optical instruments or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of optical system design and systems engineering processes.
• Experience with system-level analyses, trade-off studies, and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee optical instrument design and validation across the full project lifecycle.
• Define and manage budgets for optical performance metrics and conduct analyses.
• Lead supplier assessments and manage technical subcontractors.
• Identify risks and drive mitigation to meet milestones and reviews.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful system integration and operation.
• Support business development through technical proposals and client reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvements.
