Job summary

Outokumpu Oyj is seeking a Senior Network Operations Engineer to help build and develop our Network Operations Center (NOC) capability. You will monitor, analyze, and drive incident response, while leading investigations and mentoring NOC staff.

The role focuses on reliable, secure network services and ongoing process improvements. You will collaborate with internal teams and vendors, implement automation, and contribute to proactive problem management in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Network Operations experience.
• Strong knowledge of LAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, Next-Generation Firewalls, and DHCP.
• Experience with incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Understanding of related infrastructure technologies (e.g., servers, cloud).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Aruba, Palo Alto, EfficientIP) are an advantage.
• ITIL Foundation certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the setup and transition of the NOC function, including tools, processes, and ways of working.
• Monitor network infrastructure, analyse alerts and performance metrics, and drive service restoration.
• Own and lead investigations of complex incidents, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Identify recurring issues and contribute to proactive problem management and service improvements.
• Optimise monitoring coverage and ensure effective service visibility.
• Review and support implementation of network and firewall changes.
• Ensure network services are maintained, patched, configured, monitored, and backed up.
• Maintain operational documentation, configuration records, and CMDB accuracy.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve incidents.
• Develop scripts, automation, and AI-driven improvements to increase NOC efficiency.
• Coach and mentor NOC engineers and support continuous improvement.
